to shift or not to shift?

well, that wasnt really much of a question. of course im shifting.

this afternoon, i went to usc main to ask for a shiftee form from the dept and check my grades which were posted on the bulletin board outside the dept. (there were no names, just id nos.)

my id number wasnt there. :| so i went to the dept and asked for a form, which they didnt have. so someone went down to the registrar to ask for copies. then this girl asked what i was shifting to... i said IT.

conversation:

girl:asa ka mu shift?
me i.t.
girl: nya mga i.t. pud mu shift ug psych!
guy behind me: gikan man ko c.s.
me: *silent laugh*

anyway, time to continue.. i sat there and waited for the girl to ask for the forms... then sir ech came out of the fac room and i asked him about my grades.

turns out, there was one grade without a corresponding i.d number.. and that was mine... got 2.16. :))

and then he told me to wait coz he was gonna tell me something...

(intrigue, i know)

waited for about 30mins. then he called me... guess what he told me...

(Note: Ron, this is what I wanted to tell you.)

He asked what my plans for sembreak was coz apparently, he's holding "classes" for 7 people from our class. Just 7! And i was one of those. (Ron, you are too.)

he went on saying he wasnt just basing it one the grades but also on the interest and blahh. and that, you know, we(the seven of us) have the potential to make it through the program

(Another note: Which now, when I see it... is ironic.. Since I'm shifting and Ron's transferring next year and this wasnt even Chris' first choice for a course! I'm not sure who the others are.)

so yeahh, he went on saying that this shouldnt affect our sembreak plans and that if we wont be able to make it, he can email the hand outs and all that. :) He said not to make my final decision right away and to take some time to think...

(Another note: by that time, i already had my shiftee form in my bag)

and he told me to email him soon what my response is...

ohmigosh. the day i've been waiting for has finally arrived.
FIRST SEM is OVER. and i survived, i think.

finals was torture, although the geo thing made it worth it.
plus, no finals for a lot of subjects. :]

[cs11] had it today. creativity was a huge deal so yeaa.
[humn1] ugh. hate this subject. and i hate sir.
[engl1] departmentals was ok. but i hate the teacher.
[psyc1] whoo. wont know for sure. not yet anyway. (notes about the subject below)
[math1] i am sure i have mistakes. business math sucks.
[pe11] had my permit signed today. passed for sure.

Psyc1
SIr Ech told us that taking into consideration the grades of his other classes, about 42% of their class wouldn't have made it to the 2.5 cutoff that we have. But only 1 person didn't make it to the 3.0 cutoff. So he told us to not get our hopes up and start planning on what we'd be shifting to. Got a lot of us thinking. I didn't really care. :))

Myu: WE SURVIVED! And omigosh, I.T. na jud ko. Di pa official till I enroll. :)) But yesss, must bring Perri diay to TC during enrolment. Will she be here?

Perri: PER! Laag a lot before you go back to Manila! And yeaa, a little cheesy, but thanks a lot for making first sem awesome, Per! My textmate during histo, reed, PHILO, english, psyc, and YOUR BIOTECH. :))

Went to the department earlier to ask fot the shiftee form, but they didn't have any. Not taking that as a sign or anything. It just means I'm really excited. :)) Going back there soon.

But for now, time to get excited for HK and Singapore and all the laags! Plus, no more Saturday classes for me. EVER. At least not by choice. And more time to write my stories. (Myu, Per: hapit na human chapter 4!)

PE is actually one of the better subjects right now. I can't wait for sembreak!

♥ if i knew i was going to fail. i wouldve just stayed in ateneo. failing in USC is degrading.

♥ philo midterms tomorrow is my last chance to get a good midterm grade.

♥ how the hell do i get perfect in java programming and get a 38/40 in CS11 Windows XP!? [even i am going to die laughing from that]

♥ can i fast forward to 8 weeks after? when i can finally enjoy life and not have to dread that every TTh, i have to suffer?

♥ i need to write Legacy. like now. [myuu, i was supposed to be done with chapter 4 by midterms. :| and Forgotten, my new story, has reached a dead-end. XD.

♥ PE festival is a useless activity that basically embarasses students who cant dance(namely, me) and uses all non-existent saturday free time for rehearsals. :|

Updates on the lives of a psychology students under sir echavez. :

01. 2 people passed his midterm exam in block A. 2. out of 50 students. what does that say about the teacher?

02. more than half [i think] of the class got 5.0. and he announced it for everyone to hear.

03. he considers HRM and tourism students dumbasses. yep. the teacher who emphasized BIFJR [psychologists' code of ethics] just called HRM and tourism students dumbasses. (at least he also said they were pretty and handsome, but seriously WTFH?)

04. he held a class on midterm week. and got pissed at us for not showing up. and then decided to give us a reading assignment and a unit test the meeting after midterms. : insensitive? naah. but instead, bordering on PSYCHO. [i miss psycho derek. :))]

05. he friggin gave us an assignment thursday morning that involved researching and having to computerize it. deadline? 5pm that afternoon.

06. he says there will no trace of our class/block left. he thinks we're all gonna fail and shift to HRM. chyea right. i decided to shift the 2nd week of classes.

07. by math class [subject after psych this morning], most of the class was contemplating on shifting courses. [naa daw mag BA nya entrep. kadungog lang ko. :))]

08. others are ready to fail psych. they know in their hearts that they will fail. so why waste the tine worrying? [like me!]

09. and from ron's gm earlier today... "Don't hold on too long to what's never meant to be... sometimes we need to set things free before it hurts us badly." the message behind the message: "kung ganahan jud kag psyc pro ang psyc di jud ganahan nimo...pangita nlng ug lain..."

10. we're all probably dreading the 8 weeks of suffering we still have with him. and the finals that we're hoping(and praying) to pass. PASS. not get perfect, just PASS.

yesterday and today

yesterday: 8 out of 10

had assembly in south campus in the morning so i didnt have class. weird guy and girl who sang in the orientation sang again : then went to CS in the afternoon. it was BORING and i sat at the back, doodling. :)) then met up with jackie and joseph and we walked to the office.. standby-ed there till 415, then me and joseph went back to USC coz germaine picked up jackie(gosh, i missed the feeling of having people to hang out with!). HUMN was as usual.. interesting... i might actually love the subject.. we'll see...

today: 8 out of 10.

made a friend in english class. yey! she's also my classmate in PE. we had roleplaiyng in english and the class almos died of laughing. it made me miss high school :( then for psyc1(ugh!) we had discussion again about interesting but boring stuff... i just kept solving the rubiks cube :)) then for math1, we had a 'long' test. i sort of finished in 10mins but i didnt want to submit yet... so i just kept reviewing.. then when i felt like solving the rubiks again, i passed the paper... we were dismissed after answering so i was done by 1130. early lunch! haha! PE in the afternoon was well, lame. we had a test about what PE is and blahhh... got 19/20. gosh i hate the person who checked my work. :)) haha! we were dismissed at 145 so i went back to the office and i just made notes for psyc.

im not looking forward to tomorrow. we have a very long ReEd assignment and i have hist17 and philo tomorrow. :( and theres a party which im not planning on going but may have to go.

today... 6 out of 10

hist17 --> met up with danica and jackie before hist. stayed outside their classroom til it was almost time then went up to mine. nothing significant happened during the class.

geog60 --> found someone i knew! 2nd year lang but oh well. xD our teacher.... he's really.... lets just say... he went from discussing culture to kingkong to world war 2 to baby boom in china(!) haha!

reed10 --> had a quiz i didnt have notes in or know about. so i crammed my seatmates notes for 30seconds. it was 70 points and around 80 points i think. so yeaaa.. hoping to get more than half. :)

philo25 --> turns out, there was an orientation for all psyc freshmen that i didnt know about. so i went to the orientation which started an hour and thirty minutes ago... so i missed philo class for a useless orientation. :

cs11 --> still hate the teacher.

humn1 -->still interesting... if only i can find someone to copy last wednesday's notes from. :
